The Centre for Local Business Development launched a new discussion series geared towards helping businesses manage growth and navigate change in Guyana’s growing oil and gas (O&G) sector.
Five years into rapid economic growth in Guyana, two important business trends have emerged across the oil and gas sector – Guyanese businesses supplying the O&G sector are expanding at an extremely high rate, and complexity and scale of oil and gas operations continues to evolve.
To help local businesses manage the growth and navigate change, the Centre launched a new discussion series – Community Business Talks.
During these sessions, businesses have a chance to hear directly from the prime contractors and other entities on key topics such as Contracting Terms, Insurance Requirements in Contracts, and more. These sessions are geared towards helping companies understand the requirements, have an open discussion, and raise any key questions they may have for further clarification.
“These sessions are meant as closed informational sessions between businesses geared towards helping the local companies better understand the topical areas discussed. As the complexity of the sector continues to evolve, these sessions will help companies to come together, work together and find solutions that will help their development in the long term,” said Dr. Natasha Gaskin-Peters, Director of the Centre for Local Business Development.
To date, three Community Business Talks sessions have been held covering the topics of Contracting Terms, Payments and Invoicing, Insurance Requirements in Contracts. The next session will be held in September/October. These sessions are for businesses only. To attend the event, the business must RSVP by the provided deadline with their business name and representative. Only the confirmed RSVPs will be allowed to the event.
