Sustainable local content development is a significant focus for ExxonMobil Guyana, which is reflected in its recently submitted 2021 Annual Local Content Report, illustrating continued growth for 2021 (see table below).

Local content development requires a collaborative effort among various stakeholders across sectors, which aligns with ExxonMobil Guyana’s approach. The company participated in several engagements and consultations with stakeholders throughout 2021, including the Government of Guyana, business associations, and NGOs.

A series of training and information sessions for local businesses and community members were held in Region 3 in support of the proposed Gas-to-Energy project. These were in addition to the Environmental Impact Assessment scoping sessions held in Regions 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6. ExxonMobil Guyana continues to keep stakeholders updated through regular face-to-face engagement, operations updates, and media engagements.
